Islamic supremacy, Malaysian style

I've been saying all along that Malaysia's carefully cultivated persona (especially to the incoming cash-loaded western/infidel tourists) of being a multicultural wet dream--well, it's a mirage. It's poppycock, taqiyya, propaganda. Malaysia is essentially an Islamic state--the Muslims, or Malays, are firmly in charge. In fact, Muslims run the show in all major sectors of Malaysian government and society. In "government linked companies", it's the Muslims that completely dominate, out of all proportion to their total numbers. Non muslims are, at best, second class citizens. This domination is looking to get worse, at least as far as the infidels are concerned.

And Malaysia keeps passing itself off to the world as a 'moderate, modern' Muslim majority state. It's all basically an outrageous lie, but Malaysia gets away with it, year after year. The local dhimmis, powerless to change the situation, have only two choices: endure it or leave. The numbers below show that they are increasingly choosing to leave.

Here are some specific statistics and other facts, that I've recently found, that document the near total Islamic supremacy in this country:

  • Out of all the 5 major national banks, only one bank is multi-racial, the rest are controlled by Malays (by Malaysian law, all Malays must be Muslim. Hence, Malay always=Muslim)
  • 99% of Petronas (the state-owned oil company) directors are Malays
  • 3% of Petronas employees are Chinese
  • 99% of 2000 Petronas gasoline stations are owned by Malays
  • 100% of all contractors working under Petronas projects must be bumis (Malay)
  • Malay companies have no legal requirement to have non-Malay staff. But Chinese companies are legally required to have a minimum of 30% Malay staff.
  • Only 5% of all new recruits for government police, nurses, armed forces, are non-Malays.
  • Only 2% of the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) personnel are Chinese, a drop from 40% in 1960.
  • 2% is the percentage of non-Malays government servants in Putrajaya (the new administrative capital built in the 1990s). Malays make up the other 98%
  • 7% is the percentage of Chinese government servants in the whole government (in 2004), a drop from 30% in 1960
  • 95% of government contracts are given to Malays and Malay-owned companies
  • 100 large companies, set up, owned and managed by Chinese Malaysians were taken over by government, and later managed by Malays since 1970s--e.g. UTC, UMBC, MISC, etc
  • 8 trillion RM (about $2 trillion US) is the total amount the government channeled to Malays pockets through ASB, ASN, MARA, privatisation of government agencies, Tabung Haji etc, through NEP (New Economic Plan) over the last 34 years
  • 48 Chinese primary schools closed down since 1968 – 2000
  • 144 Indian primary schools closed down since 1968 – 2000
  • 2637 Malay primary schools built since 1968 – 2000
  • 2.5% is government budget for Chinese primary schools. Indian schools get only 1%, Malay schools get 96.5%
  • All ten public university vice chancellors are Malays
  • 25% is Malaysian Chinese population in 2004, a drop from 45% in 1957
  • 7% is the present Malaysian Indians population (2004), a drop from 12% in 1957
  • 2 millions Chinese Malaysians have emigrated overseas since 1960
  • 0.5 million Indians Malaysians have emigrated overseas since 1960
  • 3 millions (Muslim) Indonesians have migrated into Malaysia and became Malaysian citizens with bumi (Malay) status since 1960.
  • Malays get an automatic 5% to 15% discount to buy real estate, property, or a house, regardless of the Malay's economic status
  • Special Malay-only government investment fund called ASB/ASN makes an average annual return of 12%, while banks fixed deposit rate is only about 3.5% per annum.
  • 2% is what Chinese new villages get compare with 98% of what Malays villages got for rural development budget
  • 3000 mosques/suraus have been built in all new housing estates throughout Malaysia since 1970. During the same period, zero temples or churches have been built in housing estates
  • Construction of new churches and temples anywhere in Malaysia is virtually impossible. As an example of this, one project for a new Catholic Church in Shah Alam lanquished in the government construction application process for 20 years. Even after the project backers agreed to make the church resemble a "factory", approval has not yet been forthcoming from the Malay authorities as of 2004

Just a few corrections

1) Out of all the 5 major national banks, only one bank is multi-racial, the rest are controlled by Malays

ALL major LOCAL banks are Malay controlled. Public Bank is still Chinese controlled but the deal is Teh's successor must be Malay.

2) by Malaysian law, all Malays must be Muslim. Hence, Malay always=Muslim

Actually more importantly by Malaysian law we are all Bumiputra except we do not profess Islam. Anyone can be Bumiputra by becoming Muslim. And you can change all the words Malay to Bumiputra in your list.

That is very interesting. I lived with malays when i was student in Wales and i admit that they were bloody weirdos. I was lucky because they could not afford my decayed way of living (drinking beers, smoking some weed, going out, talking loud like a good greek fellow, eating pork from their crockery, playing metal music during the ramazan and etc.) and they moved in a share flat with their mates.

What i understand is that Chinese and Indians are doing the business there and Malays are the laizy public sector employees who benefit from this situation, is that right?

think of the vakoufia taxes in turkey. if you were greek orthodox (400,000 were in constantinoplein 1950) u had to pay 10 times more taxes than muslims and to serve on concentration camps. The result? nowadays there are 2000 rum (thats how they call greeks from constantinople)including the patriarch

Thank you Maobi for your corrections. This sort of legal discrimination is usually unknown and unappreciated outside Malaysia, in particular, the US State Department, which always seems to get orgasmic when praising Malaysia's "moderation".
