What's mine is mine, and what's yours is negotiable

The superb writers over at StrategyPage have some sharp analysis concerning our Muslim enemies.

Key grafs (all emphasis is mine):

A big problem Westerners have in dealing with the sources of Islamic terrorism is the quite different sense of reality the terrorists have. ... Aside from the usual “destroy Israel, and get all non-believers out of the Middle East” stuff, there are some rather more shocking demands. For example, Islamic radicals want Spain, or at least southern Spain, back. Moslems have not ruled any part of Spain for over 500 years. But to Islamic radicals, once an area has experienced Islamic rule, it is Islamic forever.

This sense of God-given entitlement does present some serious problems whenit comes to counter-terrorism. What it comes down to is that the people that are most dangerous to you do not even acknowledge your right to exist. Moreover, this is a position that has divine approval. No argument is possible. ...

To these fanatics, it’s a fight to the death, and no quarter is given, or expected. That said, the Islamic radicals also advise their followers to take advantage of enemy weaknesses. Thus, if the infidels try to “understand you,” use that to assist Islamic holy warriors in destroying, or taking advantage of, the clueless unbeliever.

Sort of like what Avenging Apostate said the Muslims were doing right now with the whole fabricated Cartoon Jihad. Can anyone doubt that the Muslims and their allies, having created this crisis out of whole cloth, will not try to take advantage of it?

Infidels, I beseech you, do not try to 'understand our enemies", and we cannot afford to be clueless in this war for our very survival.

Islamic radicals want Spain back? How do they plan on carrying out this deed, by bombing the subways of Madrid again and having the Spaniards cave into their demands?

Once under Islamic rule, a country is Islamic forever. What are these Arabs smoking? Based on their philosophy, we are also entitled to take back all the lands that were once Christian: Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Lybia, and Morocco-- converting all the Muslims into Christianity by force!
