Malaysia--Iran's best new friend

With Iran's referral this week to the UN Security Council for its, ahem, "peaceful" nuclear program, Iran is trolling the world, looking for any and all support.

And Iran has found a willing ally for its position and cause, right here in 'Muddy River' City, Kuala Lumpur. As seen in this picture, Malaysia's PM and Ahmadjihadi are now swell friends.

Ahmadinejad Concludes Visit To Malaysia

SEPANG, March 3 (Bernama) -- Iranian President Dr [doctor of what? never mind, I'm too chicken to want to know the answer] Mahmoud Ahmadinejad left Friday after concluding a three-day visit to Malaysia marked by efforts to move Kuala Lumpur-Tehran bilateral relations forward amid Iran's insistence on its right to develop nuclear technology.

Earlier, the president was accorded a farewell audience by Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Syed Putra Jamalullail [Malaysia's King and formal head of state] at Istana Negara [National Palace] in Kuala Lumpur.

Against the backdrop of western pressure [those cursed infidels! How dare they pressure fellow Muslims!] on Iran over its nuclear programme, Dr Ahmadinejad took a swipe at the International Atomic Energy Agency at a public lecture Friday morning, saying that its treatment of Iran was politically motivated.

Talks between him and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi in Putrajaya on Thursday tasked the Malaysia-Iran Joint Commission to follow up on cooperation ideas in fields covering infrastructure development, railway, tourism and biotechnology, among others.
Oooo, a joint commission now? Can a joint defense pact be far behind? Doc Ahmadjihadi wanted to get plenty of support, and he found it! Sounds like Doctor Evil had a short but very profitable sojourn to Malaysia.

This, like nothing else, shows you what side Malaysia is choosing in the global confrontation between Islam and Everyone Else. Not like it was ever much in doubt, I know. But don't expect anyone else to notice, or care, until it's too late to matter.
