Iran War Watch--The Twelth Imam gets his uranium

Assuming this is true, and not yet another part of the ongoing Taqiyya campaign, here's the MSM treatment:

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announced Tuesday that Iran has successfully enriched uranium. "Iran has joined countries with nuclear technology," he said.
It's all for peaceful purposes, you got that, you infidels?

Meanwhile, Mark Steyn reports in his most recent column (which coincidently is about Iran):

...as the Daily Telegraph in London reported: “Iran’s hardline spiritual leaders have issued an unprecedented new fatwa, or holy order, sanctioning the use of atomic weapons against its enemies.” Hmm. I’m not a professional mullah, so I can’t speak to the theological soundness of the argument, but it seems a religious school in the Holy City of Qom has ruled that “the use of nuclear weapons may not constitute a problem, according to sharia.”

Steyn's writing is as effective as the UN is completely ineffective. Read the rest of his column here.

Iran continues its march to nuclear armageddon, all in accordance with the Shia Islamic apocalyptic worldview, and the west does nothing.

The Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said “I declare here that the laboratory-scale nuclear fuel cycle has been completed and young scientists produced enriched uranium”. What was his definition of laboratory-scale? Laboratory scale characterization, small scale and pilot scale test method development.

Now thats funny, not.
I guess the ayatollahs and clerics have been too busy closely instructing their young boys, to have noticed that nukes have been used before, and to horrific result.
Perhaps they will believe that allah will provide divine protection to his faithful as their orange dyed beards shrivel and their uncut fingernails drop out.
Maybe they think that when they have detonated whatever puny weapon they can assemble, that somehow they will be safe from the rest of the world's arsenal of these deadly and despicable devices.
It completely shows up Islam and Mahummadens for what they are.
They would risk the habitability of the only home Mankind has,..the Earth.
They really think that they have done themselves a favour by developing nuclear material?
They should look around beyond their backyards.
Even Hitlers' Germany was further ahead of them in this evil enterprise and that was sixty years ago.
Wake up Iranians, you are on the path to oblivion.
Does it do you any favours that you too will have generations of deformed babies, and countless millions of cancer-deaths let alone hundreds of thousands of dead from the initial attack you will suffer, should you ever put your so called technology to use?
Do you think allah will wave his magick-wand and prevent your population from suffering the same effects radiation produces on all living tissue?
You dolts, imbeciles, you have betrayed the immense history of culture and fame that once stood Persia in the forefront of human development.
You have returned to the Dark Ages.

Bld,

This whack-job Ahmadinejad thinks that Armageddon is a prophecy that he is destined to fill, so for him, all this hurtling towards total destruction is being done on PURPOSE!

In his mystical millenialist delusional system, he believes that once he has promoted widespread death and destruction, that suddenly this Mahdi guy, the so-called "Twelfth Imam," will come crawling up out of a well south of Tehran and be put in charge of sorting out good guys from bad guys. We, of course, would be the bad guys.

He takes this stuff seriously; some people suggest that he is pushing for a world-wide conflagration no later than about five years from now. In preparation for it, he has even built a railroad to that well, along with some sort of highway, and a big mosque, so that people can travel there at the time of the Big One. He makes his cabinet go down there from time to time to drop little written messages down the well to "commune" with the Mahdi.

This "Mahdi" character may or may not have been a real person back in the 10th century, who was supposed to return during the end of the world to do his thing. Others think that he was never a real person, but just a figure that they think will appear de novo when everything goes down the tubes.

In short, Ahmedinejad WANTS all the effects of nuclear warfare that you mention. That will fulfil the prophecy and all his millenialist fantasies. He doesn't CARE about the suffering of his people, because the Mahdi will be on hand to reward them after the nuclear dust or whatever settles.

I'm not making this up.

cubed,... I've found bits and pieces of this sort of thing, it all echoes of Nostradamus and similar. But a well? Eh? You are kidding, please.
A railway to the well, you are taking the Micky. Dropping notes down the well. This smells of "Morrocan Ciggies!"
My imagination has been stretched many a mile reading about the wonderful world of Mo adventure playground and fun-park, but that is taking the biscuit!
Pleasseee tell me you made it all up or I am going to have to stand under an ice-cold shower for a year to clear my thoughts!
