Malaya turns 50 years old, even AP notices problems

Today is widely hailed as Malaysia's 50th birthday (a.k.a 'Merdeka'). It's not. Malaysia as a political entity is 44 years old--it was created as a union of Malaya, Sabah, Sarawak, and Singapore in 1963 (when the country changed its name from Malaya to Malaysia). Fortunately for Singapore, they got kicked out of the federation by Malaysia's ruling party UMNO ("U Must Not Oppose") in 1965, but Malaysia didn't revert to its original name.

So, today actually marks Malaya's 50th anniversary as an independent state. UMNO has spared no expense in bringing out the pageantry and pomp-- Nork style 'mass games', military parades, and self-congratulatory propaganda filling up the Malaysian airwaves and newsprint.

Of course, scratch the surface, and one will find that not all is well in this supposed "Moderate" Islamic paradise. Even the dhimmified shills at the Associated Press are picking up on it:

Malaysia marked 50 years of independence Friday with dances and parades in a colorful show of ethnic unity that belied worsening race relations and growing fears about eroding minority rights. [Editor: well founded fears, I'd say]

[...]

"The struggle is for all Malaysians. We must ensure that no region or community is left behind. We will hold true to the concept of justice and fairness for all citizens," [Malaysian Prime Minister] Abdullah said. [Editor: HA!]

But racial equality remains a distant dream, say many observers, citing an affirmative-action program for the majority Malays and the pervasive influence of Islam in what founding fathers envisaged as a secular nation.

Funny how Islam always seems to be 'pervasive', doesn't it? The only good kind of Islam, it bears repeating, is when there's less of it.

Belgian High Court Demands Dhimmitude in Brussels

It's a sad day in Europe and in Brussels. The high court confirmed Freddie's ban on the planned September 11th demonstration against Europe's islamization. Think about it. The government is aggressively suppressing the original infidel society to assure Islam's future and total domination of Europe. It's insane, but could it come to America? Well, it already has to some extent. The MSM actively suppresses the truth discriminating against those pointing out the history, the facts about Islam. President Bush calls Minutemen vigilantes, and the State Dept. criticisizes any disparaging statement by politicians about Islam. This path of appeasement leads to annihilation. I will not vote for any politician who even slightly condones this stupidity.

I do not know what is next. What if substantial numbers show up and the police attack them? What does it say about Europe? (make that Eurabia.)

From The Brussels Journal by Paul Belien

Belgian High Court Maintains Ban Against Anti-Islamist Demonstration

From the desk of Paul Belien on Wed, 2007-08-29 23:56

Today the Belgian Council of State (CoS) ruled to maintain the prohibition of an anti-Islamization demonstration on 11 September. Three weeks ago the demo was banned by Freddy Thielemans, the mayor of Brussels. Thielemans’s party, the Parti Socialiste (PS), caters for the many Muslim inhabitants of Brussels, the “capital of Europe.” Udo Ulfkotte, a German citizen and one of the organizers of the demo, who intended to bring 20,000 demonstrators to Brussels, decided to appeal against the mayor’s verdict before the Council of State, the highest administrative court in Belgium.

Yesterday, the Council of State postponed its ruling because it said it had to decide first whether the appeal could be made in Dutch or should be presented in French. Today, however, the CoS cut the case short and ruled outright to maintain the ban. According to the CoS Udo Ulfkotte cannot prove that his interests have been harmed by the mayor’s ban.

This verdict may sound nonsensical to non-Belgians, but in Belgium it is not considered harmful to have one’s political freedoms restricted. In Belgium it is also considered quite normal that the lawyer representing Mayor Thielemans before the CoS is Marc Uyttendaele. The latter is one of the most expensive lawyers in the country. He is also the husband of Laurette Onkelinx, the Belgian minister of Justice, who is responsible for appointing, promoting and suspending judges.

The forbidden demonstration was an initiative of Danish, British and German organizations that wanted to protest in front of the European Parliament in Brussels against the introduction of Sharia laws in Europe. They chose to do so on the symbolic date of 11 September, which would allow them to end their demonstration with one minute of silence for the victims of the 9/11/2001 terror attacks in America.

Mayor Thielemans banned the demo precisely because the organizers picked 11 September as the date for their protest. The mayor wrote: “The intention is obviously to confound the terrorist activities of Muslim extremists on the one hand and Islam as a religion and all Muslims on the other hand. […] Such incitement to discrimination and hatred, which we usually call racism and xenophobia, is forbidden by a considerable number of international treaties and is punished by our penal laws and by the European legislation. The European Court of Human Rights has repeatedly pronounced judgments condemning this type of acts.” He told The Wall Street Journal: “I won't have Brussels regarded as the capital of racism.” Obviously, Brussels as the ‘capital of socialism’ or ‘capital of Islamization’ will do.

Over half the inhabitants of the Brussels region are of foreign origin, many of them from Morocco. Thanks to the Muslim vote Mr. Thielemans’s PS is the largest party in Brussels. Ten of the 17 PS members on the Brussels municipal council are Muslims. As it lost its appeal among native Belgians, the PS began to court the Muslim vote. One of the most outspoken proponents of this policy is Justice Minister and prominent PS politician Laurette Onkelinx, the head of the Belgian judiciary and the wife of the lawyer opposing Mr Ulfkotte before the judges of the Council of State.

Meanwhile the Belgian media are reporting that all sorts of far-right and neo-Nazi groups are calling their members to come to Brussels on 11 September. The media say they want to join the anti-Islamization demo, but given the sympathy of neo-Nazis for anti-Semitic Islamists, they might come to cheer the Brussels mayor, a fellow totalitarian.

And now for something completely different

The true fathers of Malaysian Independence

By the Anti Jihadist

When Malaysians take time this upcoming Friday to reflect on the meaning of (what is widely referred to as) the 50th anniversary of Malaysian independence (a.k.a. Merdeka), they should spare a moment to thank one of the men who helped make it possible—Adolf Hitler.

That’s right. Adolf Hitler and his fascist allies, in an ironic twist of history, are in many ways the true fathers of independent Malaysia. Without their actions, Merdeka would have taken, at the very least, many more years if not decades to come to pass. Remember, in the years preceding World War II, Malaya’s status as a British colony was not seriously opposed by anyone, especially inside Malaya itself. British rule of the colony was unchallenged. And a unified Malaya not run by Britain was all but unthinkable.

The actions of one man thousands of miles away would change this status quo forever. It was Hitler’s Germany that launched war in Europe in 1939, and whose forces directly attacked the British homeland soon after. It was Hitler’s Afrika Korps and Italian allies who attacked British forces and possessions throughout the Mediterranean, and attempted to seize the British protectorate of Egypt and the vital Suez Canal. These assaults on multiple fronts concentrated British forces and planning on these theatres of war, and turned London’s attention away from Asia. The British Empire in 1940 and 1941 (when they did not yet have an official ally in the US) was stretched to the limit and fighting for its life.

Left all but forgotten at this critical juncture were the British possessions in the Far East—Hong Kong, Malaya, Singapore, North Borneo, and Burma. Stripped of military units that had been hurried westward to fight the Germans and Italians, these areas were tempting targets.

Such an opportunity was not to go unnoticed, especially by Hitler’s other ally—the Empire of Japan, who had been planning their so-called “Greater East Asian Co-Prosperity Sphere” for some time. Seeing that the chief colonizing power in Southeast Asia (the UK) had its hands full fighting the Germans in North Africa and elsewhere, the Japanese militarists carefully planned their coup de main. Germany’s conquest of Western Europe (and the fall of other colonial powers France and the Netherlands) also made for other ‘ripe pickings’ in Southeast Asia.

On December 8, 1941, Japan decisively struck the Malayan peninsula and landed a sizable invasion force near Kota Baru (on Malaya’s northeast coast). The few British units still left in Malaya resisted valiantly, but were outmaneuvered and overwhelmed in short order. Japan’s ‘jungle blitzkrieg’ succeeded enormously, and the seemingly ‘invincible’ British quickly surrendered in all of Malaya.

The resulting Japanese occupation of Malaya was humiliating as it was brutal. However, it did demonstrate to everyone (in particular, the Malays) two vital lessons that cannot be underestimated, and that ultimately paved the way for Merdeka. One, the British were clearly not unbeatable. And secondly, it could now be shown conclusively that a Malaya without British rule was possible.

When the British returned to Malaya in 1945, they did so as victors, but in full awareness that continued British rule in Malaya would not, and could not, continue as it had before. The British had won the war, true, but their victory over Hitler and fascism had bankrupted them, and they had lost much of their desire for empire as a result. Their soon-to-be former subjects, the Malays, knew that the genie was out of the bottle, and realised that they had to finagle the most favourable terms possible from the soon-to-depart British.

It was merely a question of time, of process, and of form, but thanks to the schemes of the Nazis and their friends, Malayan independence had become inevitable.

Remember that this week when you display your Jalur Gemilang.*

When Muslims bite the hand that feeds them

By The Anti Jihadist

Mass demonstrations earlier this month in theoretically “moderate” Indonesia in support of a Global Islamic Empire (with the usual rabid anti-Americanism in attendance) reminded me of other recent events there.

In November 2006, US President Bush visited Indonesia, a land where seething idiocy is always boiling just under the surface. Awaiting the US President for his visit to the Indonesian-Islamic insane asylum was the usual and predictable cauldron of anti-American sentiment:

Hundreds of Indonesian Muslims demonstrated Saturday against an upcoming visit by U.S. President George W. Bush, accusing him of terrorism and war crimes.

“His visit will bring no benefit to our country because his policies always hurt Muslims,” said protester Fatih Karim. “We ought to refuse him entry.”

Here’s something those livid Caliphate-loving Indonesians should try to keep in mind when they go stark raving mad (yet again) with their hatred for America--free medical care given to the masses of the poor in their country, courtesy of the evil imperialist US military, to the tune of over US$17 million in 2006 alone:

Earlier (in 2006), the (US Navy Hospital ship) Mercy spent six months in Indonesia, treating 61,000 patients. Most of the Indonesians received some medicine, or some dental work. But about two percent involved some surgery. As a result of the Mercy's visit, favorable attitudes towards the U.S. by Indonesians doubled (to 30 percent, so more work is needed.) The Indonesians were getting American quality medicine, which explains the average cost for treating each patient; $280.

61,000 Indonesians times $280 equals US$17,080,000 (~RM59 million). And this is on top of the hundreds of millions of dollars already spent by the US on tsunami relief for that very same country in 2004 and 2005. Much of this aid was delivered directly to tsunami-devastated areas in Sumatra by (you guessed it) the same US military that provided all that free medical care.

That’s right. America, the country and its leader, so despised by Hizbut Tahrir and other Muslim groups, is actually underwriting free medical care for poor Muslims in Indonesia. Never mind that, as these spiteful people still end up hating their benefactor by a large majority—they’re now ‘only’ 70% anti-American according to the aforementioned figures. But if the US Government can’t scrape up enough resources to keep sending back the medics or other ‘humanitarian aid’, the American ‘disapproval rating’ is sure to creep up again.

American charity towards Muslims is not limited to just Indonesia. In recent years, America (its government, armed forces, NGOs, or all of the above) has saved millions of Muslims from various calamities--suffering Bangladeshis from a catastrophic cyclone in 1991, Somalians from a raging famine in 1992-3, and Pakistanis from a devastating earthquake in 2005. And let us not forget the massive US military efforts to deliver assistance to Indonesia in the wake of the destructive earthquake and tsunami there. Direct American military intervention has also saved Muslims in Kosovo, Bosnia, and Kurdistan from murderous pogroms and ethnic cleansing at the hands of dictators and/or their infidel neighbours. American taxpayers have also funded hundreds of millions in aid for Darfur (US$1 billion since 2003) and the Palestinian ‘Authority’ ($225 million or more since 2003).

No matter how generous America is towards the Islamic world, it all goes unrecognised, or is pointedly ignored, by Muslims. Considering the entrenched Muslim attitudes of disdain and revulsion towards the United States (as recently displayed by many Indonesians), I don’t see any reason why these generous infidels should lift a finger or spend another American dollar to help Muslims again when the next disaster strikes.

But they will. The Americans, God bless them, will continue their unparalleled generosity anyway, even towards Muslims who (secretly or openly) pine for America’s destruction.

A Tale of Two Countries

By the Anti-Jihadist

I wrote and recently submitted this column to Malaysia Today's editor Raja Petra Kamaruddin for posting on his widely-read political website. He specifically declined to put up this piece. I invite M-T readers (as well as our regular audience) to have a look at this column, one that RPK didn't want his Malaysia Today readers to see, and to draw your own conclusions.

UPDATE: As of the morning 25 August (Malaysia time), RPK has now posted this piece at M-T, without alteration or censorship. I'd like to publically express my thanks for RPK's reversal of his earlier decision not to post this particular article, and for having the courage to do so.

Being familiar with both Korea and Malaysia, and having seen first-hand how these two nations manage their affairs, there is a number of enlightening conclusions that can be drawn.

South Korea, by any measure, is a huge success story. In just fifty years, the country has catapulted itself from a bombed-out, resource-poor, dictator-run Third World crap hole to First World status. Korea’s infrastructure and technologies are world-class, and its government is reasonably efficient and accountable. South Korea’s GNP per capita ranks as the equivalent if not better than most European countries. Newspapers are full of stories of internationally-known Korean chaebol (conglomerates) like Samsung, Hyundai or LG developing new technologies, winning more overseas contracts, opening new factories outside of Korea, and increasing their market share in places like Europe and the US. While Korea has shown an unfortunate propensity to occasionally favour ludicrous ideas like anti-Semitism or anti-Americanism (two dysfunctional ideas that often go hand-in-hand), Korea has gotten it right more often than not. Through an enormous labour effort, Korea has created a wealthy, secular, capitalist democracy. Koreans have a powerful work ethic, and are not averse to doing tremendous amounts of it. Now, Koreans are reaping the rewards of decades of effort -- and they’ve earned it.

Compare Korea’s story to Malaysia’s. Malaysia became independent in 1957 with a significant number of advantages compared to the erstwhile ‘Hermit Kingdom’. Malaysia was emerging from over a century of relatively benign British rule in 1957, not 40 years of brutal Japanese occupation as the Koreans had endured. Malaysia possessed at the time of its founding, thanks to the British, a comprehensive national infrastructure and an excellent education system based on the British model. True, Malaysia was struggling through its own civil war at the time of independence (a.k.a. the “Malayan Emergency”), but this was not nearly as deadly or destructive as the Korean conflict (which is technically still going on). Unlike Korea, Malaysia possesses significant natural resources, namely petroleum, timber, tin, palm oil and rubber. Malaysia’s advantageous geographic position gives it direct access to the Straits of Malacca, the world’s most important shipping channel. And Malaysia in 1963 gained control of Singapore, which has emerged as Southeast Asia’s regional center of commerce, and an enormous wealth-generation machine in its own right.

All told, it’s an enviable set of advantages. But Korea has, somehow, succeeded far beyond anything the Malaysians have achieved to date. How did this situation come to pass?

Let’s review Malaysia’s track record. Other than Petronas, the Malaysian state-owned oil company, there are no Malaysian-based international corporations worthy of note (Air Asia, for the moment, remains a strictly SE Asian concern). The state-owned car company Proton, which has haemorrhaged enormous amounts of capital, is a massive failure that continues to survive only through massive subsidies and trade barriers to foreign carmakers. Likewise, the national airline MAS suffers from chronic mismanagement and enduring poor financial performance. Endemic corruption has so far resisted half-hearted attempts to remedy it, hobbles progress at all levels, and rots the very underpinnings of the Malaysian state and economy. Malaysia is still forced to import or otherwise buy many critical technologies—in other words, the country has failed to innovate in any meaningful way. The education system, following independence, eventually resorted to dumping so-called ‘colonial’ ideas like teaching English, and even worse, became heavily Islamified. Critical thinking was jettisoned in favor of mindless memorisation and learning-by-rote. Just how bad has the Malaysian education system become? Nowadays, anyone in Malaysia who is rich enough to send their children overseas for education, generally does.

And what about Singapore? Singapore, the Chinese-majority cash engine of the region, was kicked out of the federation in 1965, only two years after joining, over political, racial and religious differences. As a tiny independent city-state, and without any natural resources to speak of, Singapore has become as rich (per capita speaking) and as advanced as Korea, or as most anywhere else in the First World. Singapore, with a population of only one-sixth the size of Malaysia, had in 2006 a GNP of US$141.2 billion, nearly half of Malaysia’s US$313.8 billion. If Singapore had not been expelled in 1965, this mighty economic engine would still be Malaysian territory and could have greatly enriched the country. Alas, the expulsion of Singapore would prove to be not the last blunder committed by the UMNO regime. Now, their former countrymen and now much poorer neighbors to the north can only watch Singapore’s success enviously from across the narrow straits that separate the two countries.

Unlike Malaysia, Korea allows genuine freedom of religion, and its citizens are split into three roughly equal groups—Christians, Buddhists, and the non-religious. All Koreans are free to be of any religion, or none at all, as they see fit without government interference. This defuses religious tensions before they can start and allows the government to focus its efforts and resources on more important priorities, like education and economic development.

On the other hand, Malaysia is and always has been (by law) a majority Malay/Muslim state, complete with a state religion (Islam), lifestyle police (JAKIM, et al), a dual-track legal system (with Islamic law having the edge), and ever-increasing (Islam-inspired) restrictions on the richer, but outnumbered non-Muslims. The Muslim insistence on permanent dominance in all spheres of national life causes endless tensions and unhappiness within the key (non Muslim) commercial and business communities.

Malaysia still heavily relies on its more entrepreneurial, non Muslim minority to generate the majority of revenue and an outsized portion of the GNP. In a scheme that is ‘jizya’ in all but name, these same non Muslims pay most of the taxes, and the resulting government largess is reserved mostly for Muslims via entitlement programmes (i.e. NEP) that are politically untouchable. This same embattled minority is also largely responsible for what economic growth Malaysia has enjoyed in the first place. This quixotic dependence is a fact of national life and continues to this day.

Korea has regularly-scheduled elections and a multitude of political parties who jockey for votes and compete for power, a show of political dynamism that stands in stark contrast to Malaysia. Malaysia is the only country in the world, to this writer’s knowledge, where the reins of power have been held by one race-based political party (UMNO, or United Malays National Organisation) since the country’s founding. Imagine, say, the United States being run by the same political party for over 200 years that openly and proudly calls itself the ‘United White People’s Party’, and you will begin to comprehend Malaysia. Where, you may be asking, are the other Malaysian political parties? Well, they are either bullied into a UMNO-controlled umbrella group (called Barisan Nasional, or ‘National Front’), or otherwise intimidated into relative impotence. The only genuine opposition party is PAS, a hard-core Muslim Jihadist party that wants to turn Malaysian into a purely shariah state. The unbreakable Malay monopoly on political power ensures this dysfunctional political arrangement will continue indefinitely…unless the whole house of cards somehow collapses (which, year by year, grows increasingly likely).

So, Korea succeeds as few others have, and Malaysia, in the immortal words of Mark Steyn, is among merely the ‘least worst’ of the world’s Islamic states. And why do you suppose that is? What makes Korea different from Malaysia as Dom Perignon is different from tap water?

I would suggest that much of the answer begins with an ‘I’ and ends with a ‘SLAM’.

Politically Correct Nelson at Trafalgar

Nelson: "Order the signal, Hardy."

Hardy: "Aye, aye sir."

Nelson: "Hold on, that's not what I dictated to Flags. What's the meaning of this?"

Hardy: "Sorry sir?"

Nelson (reading aloud): "' England expects every person to do his or her duty, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religious persuasion or disability.' - What gobbledegook is this?"

Hardy: "Admiralty policy, I'm afraid, sir. We're an equal opportunities employer now. We had the devil's own job getting ' England ' past the censors, lest it be considered racist."

Nelson: "Gadzooks, Hardy. Hand me my pipe and tobacco."

Hardy: "Sorry sir. All naval vessels have now been designated smoke-free working environments."

Nelson: "In that case, break open the rum ration. Let us splice the mainbrace to steel the men before battle."

Hardy: "The rum ration has been abolished, Admiral. Its part of the Government's policy on binge drinking."

Nelson: "Good heavens, Hardy. I suppose we'd better get on with it ........... full speed ahead."

Hardy: "I think you'll find that there's a 4 knot speed limit in this stretch of water."

Nelson: "Damn it man! We are on the eve of the greatest sea battle in history. We must advance with all dispatch. Report from the crow's nest please."

Hardy: "That won't be possible, sir." Nelson: "What?" Hardy: "Health and Safety have closed the crow's nest, sir. No harness; and they said that rope ladders don't meet regulations. They won't let anyone up there until a proper scaffolding can be erected."

Nelson: "Then get me the ship's carpenter without delay, Hardy."

Hardy: "He's busy knocking up a wheelchair access to the foredeck Admiral."

Nelson: "Wheelchair access? I've never heard anything so absurd."

Hardy: "Health and safety again, sir. We have to provide a barrier-free environment for the differently abled."

Nelson: "Differently abled? I've only one arm and one eye and I refuse even to hear mention of the word. I didn't rise to the rank of admiral by playing the disability card."

Hardy: "Actually, sir, you did. The Royal Navy is under represented in the areas of visual impairment and limb deficiency."

Nelson: "Whatever next? Give me full sail. The salt spray beckons."

Hardy: "A couple of problems there too, sir. Health and safety won't let the crew up the rigging without hard hats. And they don't want anyone breathing in too much salt - haven't you seen the adverts?"

Nelson: "I've never heard such infamy. Break out the cannon and tell the men to stand by to engage the enemy."

Hardy: "The men are a bit worried about shooting at anyone, Admiral."

Nelson: "What? This is mutiny!"

Hardy: "It's not that, sir. It's just that they're afraid of being charged with murder if they actually kill anyone. There's a couple of legal-aid lawyers on board, watching everyone like hawks."

Nelson: "Then how are we to sink the Frenchies and the Spanish?"

Hardy: "Actually, sir, we're not."

Nelson: "We're not?"

Hardy: "No, sir. The French and the Spanish are our European partners now. According to the Common Fisheries Policy, we shouldn't even be in this stretch of water. We could get hit with a claim for compensation."

Nelson: "But you must hate a Frenchman as you hate the devil."

Hardy: "I wouldn't let the ship's diversity co-ordinator hear you saying that sir. You'll be up on disciplinary report."

Nelson: "You must consider every man an enemy, who speaks ill of your King."

Hardy: "Not any more, sir. We must be inclusive in this multicultural age. Now put on your Kevlar vest; it's the rules. It could save your life"

Nelson: "Don't tell me - health and safety. Whatever happened to rum, sodomy and the lash?"

Hardy: As I explained, sir, rum is off the menu! And there's a ban on corporal punishment."

Nelson: "What about sodomy?"

Hardy: "I believe that is now legal, sir."

Nelson: "In that case............................... kiss me, Hardy."

Malaysia slides towards a new dark age

"Islam’s war on sin dims bright lights in a nation torn between cultures"

By Nick Meo in Kota Bharu (for TimesOnline)

Over a drink of green coconut at what used to be called the Passionate Love Beach until his Islamist party came to power and scrapped the name, state minister Takiyuddin Hassan outlines the victories in the war on sin.

To the south, in Kuala Lumpur, the capital, celebrations are starting for Malaysia’s 50th year as an independent state. Its proud achievements are modern universities, a buoyant economy and a respected place in the world as a moderate Islamic nation.

Mr Hassan’s party boasts a different set of achievements: banning mini-skirts, chastising unmarried couples and renaming Kota Bharu’s favourite beauty spot. They also closed down nightclubs, banned nearly all bars except a few Chinese restaurants, where no Muslims are allowed, and refused to let a proposed cinema open unless there were separate sections for men and women.

In a sign of their clout, the American pop diva Gwen Stefani has agreed to wear traditional costumes in her Malaysian concert next week after conservative Muslim youths protested at the “indecent dressing and obscenity” of her skin-baring act. An Islamic opposition party demanded that her show next Tuesday should be cancelled.

The platinum blonde star has agreed to cover up in the hope of heading off further protests.

As it celebrates 50 years of independence on August 31, Malaysia is once again debating just how Islamic it should be. Older Malays bemoan a younger generation that has become puritanical, self-righteously declining to attend social functions where alcohol is served. Headscarves, rare 20 years ago, are worn by almost all Malay women now, although often in combination with tight jeans.

As for Mr Hassan, a moderate who was once a lawyer, he is proud of his party’s achievements in Kota Bharu. He says that it has kept the rustic capital of Kelantan state upright and clean-living. The biggest building in the city is a gigantic headquarters decorated with concrete Korans where the moral enforcement department is based. Its bearded officials spend much of their time prowling parks in Kota Bharu in search of amorous young sinners.

Mr Hassan is sensitive about the mocking nickname of “Taleban lite” sometimes levelled at his party from Kuala Lumpur, where bars do a roaring trade and the cinemas are full of dating couples. Yet he is sure that the moral example set in Kota Bharu will some day win over his lax compatriots to the south. “Malaysia is a Muslim state. We hope we can change the mindset of our people in Kuala Lumpur so they can live according to Islamic principles too,” he said. Not all parties agree.

Some fear that assertive Islam threatens to upset the delicate balance between the 60 per cent Malay Muslim majority and the nonMuslim ethnic Chinese and Indian minorities, which have managed to coexist, sometimes uneasily, since the troubled birth of the country in 1957, at a time of civil war and ethnic tension.

At the time many feared that the new nation was doomed to failure. It has instead built a strong economy and an imperfect democracy, dominated for 50 years by the United Malays National Organisation, which has survived without the coups or upheavals that have plagued her neighbours.

Ronnie Liu, of the Democratic Action Party, said: “Socialising between Malays and the other ethnic groups is much rarer than it used to be. You go into coffee shops and restaurants now and they no longer cater to an ethnic mix of customers. It wasn’t like that before.” Some nonMuslim Chinese and Indians feel increasingly treated like second-class citizens. They complain, usually privately, that Islamic religious schools are much better funded than theirs and that a system of affirmative action favours Malays when it comes to university places.

Islam has always had a prominent place. It is the official religion of Malaysia and the Constitution states that anyone born Malay is Muslim.

The debate over the parameters of its role, an old argument in Malaysia, was given a new outing when Najib Razak, the Deputy Prime Minister, broke a taboo to declare that the nation was an Islamic one. He said: “We have never been secular because being secular by Western definition means separation of the Islamic principles in the way we govern the country.”

The Council of Churches of Malaysia afterwards accused him of stirring up racial tension.

Minority religions are particularly worried about a series of apostasy rulings. Chinese or Indians who want to marry a Malay must convert to Islam, causing great problems if they divorce or are widowed and want to return to the religion of their birth.

In a notorious case this year a Malay woman called Lina Joy attempted to have Malaysia’s courts recognise her conversion to Christianity, but failed and was hounded and fled into hiding. Some hardliners have even called for the execution of apostates.

Every state has a religious department with Saudi-style moral enforcers and nowhere are they more active than in Kota Bharu, a city of mosques along a muddy river that bustles during the day but falls silent at nightfall.

Unmarried couples found sharing hotel rooms are hunted down by the enforcers. Couples caught sitting too close together on park benches are fined 2,000 ringgit (£285) in the city’s shariah court under a provision called khalwat, loosely translated as “close proximity”. Couples have been forced into marriage after being caught together and moral enforcers sometimes pick on foreigners.

NonMuslims as well as Malays also sometimes fall foul of the enforcers in Kuala Lumpur and elsewhere and there are claims that instead of being paragons of Islamic virtue the enforcers are prone to bribery and have recruited vigilantes into their ranks.

In Kota Bharu the enforcers declined to speak to The Times. Mr Hassan explained: “They are worried about being made to look like fools. It could damage the image of Islam if their work is portrayed in the wrong light.”

Nurhayati Kaprawi, of Sisters in Islam, a group that has spoken out against khalwat and the enforcers, said that many of their raids followed anonymous tip-offs. She said that they frequently terrorised people by barging into homes in the middle of the night.

Ms Kaprawi said: “They say they want to implement Islam but the truth is they are really smearing Islam. If they are not stopped they really could become like the Taleban.”

Mark Steyn Asks Some Tough Questions About The Sanctuary Charade

This is an excellent article by Mark Steyn. It points out that we have been living a charade with a shadow state of illegal immigrants. That foolishness is of course complimented by the charade of the war on 'terror.' Power to truth they say. I for one am tired of the lies.

Mark Steyn: Speaking of sanctuary, where's ours?
MARK STEYN
Syndicated columnist

At the funeral of Iofemi Hightower, her classmate Mecca Ali wore a T-shirt with the slogan: "Tell Me Why They Had To Die."

"They" are Miss Hightower, Dashon Harvey and Terrance Aeriel, three young citizens of Newark, New Jersey, lined up against a schoolyard wall, forced to kneel and then shot in the head.

Miss Ali poses an interesting question. No one can say why they "had" to die, but it ought to be possible to advance theories as to what factors make violent death in Newark a more-likely proposition than it should be. That's usually what happens when lurid cases make national headlines: When Matthew Shepard was beaten and hung on a fence in Wyoming, Frank Rich wrote in the New York Times that it was merely the latest stage in a "war" against homosexuals loosed by the forces of intolerance. Mr. Shepard's murder was dramatized in plays and movies and innumerable songs by Melissa Etheridge, Elton John, Peter, Paul and Mary, etc. The fact that this vile crucifixion was a grisly one-off and that American gays have never been less at risk from getting bashed did not deter pundits and politicians and lobby groups galore from arguing that this freak case demonstrated the need for special legislation.

CAIR Takes the Machete to the ADL

CAIR has the axe out and just keeps on swinging. Spencer, YAF, the government, the trials, the media, and now the ADL. Do they think this is winning friends and changing minds?

CAIR Says ADL Seeks to Hinder Legal Rights of U.S. Muslims
Pro-Israel group 'smears' coalition advocating due process for Texas Muslim charity

In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 8/17/2007) - A prominent national Islamic civil rights and advocacy group today accused the Anti-Defamation League (ADL http://www.adl.org/) of seeking to hinder the due process rights of American Muslims by using "smears and exclusionary tactics" that exploit growing Islamophobia in American society.

The Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) said those smears appeared in a recent ADL news release targeting members of a coalition defending the legal rights of officials of the Holy Land Foundation (HLF) Muslim charity currently on trial in Texas. In its release, the ADL falsely claimed that members of the coalition have been "tainted by their own murky associations with radical organizations and individuals."

A CAIR statement issued today in reaction to the ADL's allegations said:

"It is regrettable that the Anti-Defamation League, which claims to defend American civil liberties, would seek to exploit the growing level of Islamophobia in our society by using the same smears and exclusionary tactics that have in the past been used by anti-Semites to target the Jewish community.

"Unfortunately, the ADL has a history of seeking to marginalize and disenfranchise American Muslims in an attempt to stifle an alternative viewpoint on U.S. policy in the Middle East.

"In 2004, the ADL was forced to issue an apology for remarks in another news release that seemed to link the Islamic declaration of faith, or 'shahada,' with terrorism. That news release, distributed by the ADL's Orange County/Long Beach Regional Office, referred to the shahada as an 'expression of hate' that is 'closely identified' with terrorism and is 'offensive to Jewish students.'

"In 2003, CAIR learned that the ADL engaged in a behind-the-scenes smear campaign designed to block speakers from taking part in a Muslim event in Florida. CAIR's Florida office, the sponsor of the event, said speakers disregarded an ADL letter smearing other event participants, including a former U.S. congressman.

"In 2002, the ADL demanded that Muslim groups be denied the right to offer presentations on Islam to public officials at a public event in Southern California. The ADL's campaign of defamation was revealed when the Los Angeles Times wrote: 'Pro-Israel or Jewish organizations such as the Anti-Defamation League, the Jewish Defense League and [Daniel Pipes'] Middle East Forum think tank have provided news organizations with reams of critical documentation on Muslim leaders in recent weeks.'

"Also in 2002, the ADL allegedly pressured officials to withdraw the appointment of Omar T. Mohammedi, a prominent employment discrimination attorney, to the New York City Commission on Human Rights.

"In 2001, the ADL attempted to bar CAIR's Los Angeles office from taking part in a hearing on hate crimes. That same year, the Florida Commission on Human Relations rejected an ADL demand to exclude a Muslim representative from an annual civil rights conference and the State of California Select Committee on Hate Crimes turned down a similar demand to prevent a Muslim leader from offering testimony at a public hearing.

"In 2000, an ADL representative testified before Congress in support of the use of secret evidence against Muslims and Arabs.

"The ADL's smear campaign is not limited to American Muslims.

"In April of 2001, a federal judge upheld a jury's findings that the ADL defamed a Colorado couple by publicly accusing them of being anti-Semitic. U.S. District Court Judge Edward Nottingham said that evidence was sufficient to support the jury's conclusion that the ADL 'acted recklessly in its efforts to publicize what it perceived to be anti-Semitic conduct.' (Associated Press, 4/4/2001)

"In 1999, the ADL agreed to pay $25,000 to a community relations fund and said it would not spy on other organizations as part of a settlement with the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee and other groups. The settlement resolved a class-action lawsuit filed in 1993 that accused the ADL of spying on Arab-American, pro-Palestinian and anti-Apartheid groups and individuals. (AP, 9/28/1999)

"CAIR and other American Muslim organizations have consistently condemned terrorism, including attacks on Israeli civilians, while the ADL has remained silent about the abuses suffered by the Palestinian people under occupation. CAIR has also repeatedly called for a peaceful and just resolution to the Middle East conflict that takes into account the rights and responsibilities of all parties.

"For too long, the ADL has allowed its blind support for Israel's brutal policies toward the Palestinians and its zero-sum approach to public debate on the Middle East conflict to unnecessarily poison relations between the Jewish and American Muslim communities.

European newspaper (finally!) sounding the alarm about Muslim migrants

From Ireland’s Independent.ie media company and writer Kevin Myers comes a deliberate and unapologetic opinion piece that sounds much like what we've been saying at Pedestrian Infidel all along (Hat-tip: Foehammer):

Forget lily-livered liberalism, time to take stand and say we don’t want Muslim immigrants

LET me ask you something. Is it a rational decision for a secular-Christian society to admit thousands of Muslims into its midst? Comparable movements of Christians into Muslim societies are not permitted, so what essential, non-negotiable, mutually respected right is involved?

The question is especially apposite, because we now know the consequences for every single European society which has admitted large numbers of Muslims: social alienation, religious antagonism and outright terrorism.

We know this. We all know it. And yet we continue to allow Muslim immigration. Why? What do we gain from it?

Well, up until two weeks ago you might have said, more doctors - for when Mary Harney declared that she was going to solve the impasse in the health service by bringing in medical graduates from around the world, we all accepted that doctors, no matter their religion, were dedicated to saving life.

That was then. We know otherwise now. Clearly the Hippocratic Oath doesn’t have the universal power we once thought. Even Mengele, for all his evil, could maintain the fiction that his abominable experiments were of some medical use. But no one could possibly say that of the medical mass-murder plots in Britain, where the term WMD has taken on a new and grisly resonance for some Muslim doctors. Which ones? We don’t know. Okay: so why take the risk?

Now, whenever I write about immigration, the response is a bristling silence, as the binary-weight of physical fear and PC-conformism successfully suppresses debate on Ireland’s future. Occasionally, one hears a little bleat, “You’re not being helpful” - ah yes, the lily-livered whinge of unprincipled liberalism.

Thus, the Dail has never debated the effects of Christian, European population-movement into Ireland, never mind the consequences of Islamic immigration. This is frivolousness to the point of delinquency, the hallmark of a society which has neither faith in its own values, nor a determination for them to endure. And a society which does not defend its core-certainties is sooner or later doomed. Much of Europe is so afflicted, and Britain is in an advanced stage of the disease.

Islamic norms are now tolerated, and informally enforced, across many British cities, where women routinely wear full face-veils. Of Britain’s two million Muslims, over 300,000 believe suicide attacks in the West are justified, and 500,000 believe the 7/7 attacks in London two years ago were the work of British intelligence.

Some 600,000 do not even regard themselves as British, 37pc want sharia law in Britain, and one-quarter want to live in all-Muslim areas. Meanwhile, MI5 is close to being overwhelmed by the sheer scale of the domestic terrorist insurgency: 100 Islamicist suspects are already awaiting trial, and there are some 200 terrorist networks, with 1,700 members, now operating around the country.

“Immigrants are good for a society,” goes the brainless parrot-cry of Irish dogmatic advocates. Sometimes, sometimes, but not always. In Britain, 16pc of Christians are economically inactive; the figure for Muslims is twice that, 31pc. Unemployment for Muslim women stands at 18pc, compared to 4pc for Jewish and Christian women.

In Luton, 44pc of school pupils are Muslim, though only 30pc of the population of the town are. Which means that Muslim families have 50pc more children than those of the indigenous population - in other words, within a couple of generations, the two groups in Luton will be swapping demographic places.

Better still, Dr Nazia Khanum, the “Chair” of the splendidly named Luton Multicultural Women’s Coalition, (no, I didn’t make it up: I just couldn’t) has complained that in many village schools near Luton - in rustic Bedfordshire - both teachers and pupils were almost entirely white. What? White Christians? In England? How perfectly shocking.

And terrifyingly, there is no large-scale Islamic rejection of the murderous projects of their co-religionists in Britain; no mass-rallies of Muslims denouncing Islamicism; no call from within Muslim society for Muslims to join the army or police; and no unconditional and all-embracing campaign to extirpate murderous fundamentalism from within British Muslim society. Even “liberal” Muslims blame British foreign policy for Islamic terrorism in Britain, while remaining silent about the unspeakable Muslim-on-Muslim atrocities in Iraq.

These plumb depths that are unprecedented in any conflict. Take one recent example: Sunni terrorists exploded a bomb at a Shia girls’ university near Baghdad as the students broke for lunch. A suicide car-bomber meanwhile watched which way the panic-stricken girls were fleeing from the blast, and then drove into the largest mass of them, detonated his bomb and killed over hundred of them.

Here was a very special jihad operation indeed, one in which the martyr personally took his 72 virgins with him to paradise, with another 30 to spare. What a thoughtful fellow. But not even the Nazis at their most depraved made a public virtue out of slaughtering teenage girls.

Enough. So what advantage do we derive from allowing Muslims into Ireland, rather than Buddhists, Sikhs, Hindus, Parsis, Jains or even Christians? What rational justification is there for enlarging our Islamic population? What is it? Go on, what is it?

Major Saudi Cleric Says Infidels Wear Colored Underwear to Hide 'Their Filth'

Something like that. Islam is easy to mock. They are such a rich target.

'Even their underwear is colored and not white, so it can conceal all that filth.'

From Memri TV (via JihadWatch)

Apparently, in his view, to make the world safe for white underwear.

"Saudi Cleric Muhammad Al-Munajid: Western 'Beasts' Use Colored Underwear to Conceal Their Filth," from MEMRITV:

Following are excerpts from an interview with Saudi cleric Muhammad Al-Munajid, which aired on Iqra TV on July 26, 2007:

Sheik Muhammad Al-Munajid: This is a nation of monotheism, and this is the Islam that Allah wants to spread throughout the world, and to rule the land it its entirety. Allah wants this. He sent down the Koran and the hadith for that purpose.

[...]

Humanity can have no happiness without Islam. Humanity can enjoy no goodness, unless the sun of monotheism, the Koran, and the Sunna shines upon it. The world without the sun of the divine revelation is a place of eternal darkness, as we can see today – a world of frustration, collapse, injustice, arbitrariness, and wrongdoing. The world today is a jungle – a world of barbarism of all kinds. People in many parts of the world are not happy, because they do not walk in the path of Allah.

[...]

There are rules of shari'a in everything. We have counted almost 70 rules about how to urinate and defecate. In contrast, how do those beasts in the West answer the call of nature? They stand in front of other people, in toilets at airports and other public places. They do not care about covering their private parts. Even their underwear is colored and not white, so it can conceal all that filth. We are a nation that has long known the meaning of cleanliness, what to do when nature calls, and what the rules of hygiene are. The others, to this day, live like beasts. To this day, many of them are not circumcised, even though the World Health Organization has advised to circumcise people as a treatment for AIDS, because it has been scientifically proven that circumcised people are less susceptible to AIDS, and are less likely to spread it than uncircumcised people.

Malaysia's Insurgents in Waiting--The 'Khilafah’ Movement

By the Anti Jihadist

As a (now former) writer at Malaysia Today (M-T), I have been accused in no uncertain terms of committing sedition with my articles and ideas. I make no apologies for my positions that call for reform—even radical reforms—to save the country. Yet, nowhere in my work have I taken the position of advocating the downfall of Malaysia as an independent state.

So, it stands to reason, were any group to emerge that called for the destruction of Malaysia as sovereign nation, that such a group would be inherently (and unmistakably) seditious, and would therefore be prosecuted by the Malaysian authorities to the fullest extent of the law. Certainly, the current ‘authorities’ have not been shy in rattling the sword of the Sedition Act against our own RPK (M-T's editor) , whom is the most loyal citizen of the state that I know.

Yet, there is a group of Malaysians, active at this very moment, which seeks nothing less than the end of Malaysia as a self-governing country. They are a large and growing movement inside of Malaysia’s borders, operating overtly and their aims open to all. And yet, the thugs, petty fascists, and bumbling bureaucrats of UMNO, ever vigilant to protect only their own selfishly-defined turf or interests, have done nothing.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the Khilafah (Caliphate) Movement, a.k.a. Hizbut Tahrir (HT), a fundamentalist group actively scheming to overthrow Malaysia’s government and wipe out its Federal Constitution and civil laws. These Khilafah conspirators hide in plain sight as they peddle their poison. They grow ever more antagonistic, aggressive, and audacious as the authorities supposedly entrusted to protecting the state grow ever more craven, corrupt, and cowardly.

‘Khilafah’ is a movement that is hardly lacking in ambition. They seek nothing less than a supersized Islamic state (a.k.a. the Caliphate), an empire that unites all Muslim countries under one clerical government (read dictatorship) first regionally, then globally, under the totalitarian aegis of Sharia law. Never mind the fact that the last “Islamic Empire” existed a thousand years ago or more, and flew apart as quickly as it was cobbled together. But reality has never stood in the way of the visions of the wild-eyed.

This past weekend, on 12 August 2007 in Shah Alam, was the latest demonstration of Hizbut Tahrir’s growing Malaysian might. Their activities surely grow in size and sophistication with each passing month, no doubt emboldened by the total lack of any challenge to their treasonous activities by the guardians of the state. Apparently, Pak Lah (the Malaysian Prime Minister) is too busy sleeping!

This movement is not happening in isolation, nor is it confined only to Malaysia. The 12 August event in Selangor was timed to occur in conjunction with Khilafah rallies in Jakarta, ‘Palestine’, the UK, and elsewhere. This contagion is worldwide. I have not yet been able to establish a reliable number of attendees in the occasion at Shah Alam, but reliable press reports place the number present at the Khilafah rally in Jakarta this past weekend at 90,000 strong, enough to fill an entire football stadium—in other words, not an amount to be cavalierly ignored.

For the moment, these plotters claim that they seek their goals via ‘non violent’ means. But does this make their stated objectives any less abhorrent or seditious? And does anyone doubt for a moment that these self-proclaimed revolutionaries would ‘reconsider’ their heretofore ‘non-violent’ tactics if they were to perceive this to be to their advantage?

HT does have a proven track record of spawning a number of violent Islamist organisations that do advocate violence. One such HT spin-off group is called 'al-Muhajiroun' and was founded by the former HT head in the UK, the infamous and vile “Islamic scholar” Omar Bakri. This group is notorious for, among other things, having published a poster which praised the 9/11 terrorists as the “magnificent 19.”

A group of Malaysians plotting sedition against their own state is bad enough. But if they are aided and abetted by foreign persons unknown, which I strongly suspect they are, then this goes beyond sedition. This is foreign-sponsored subversion, and a dangerous threat that we underestimate at our own peril.

Hat tip to longtime M-T commenter Farouk for his input and assistance for this article.

Islam: The Mother of All Darkness

The mass demonstration in Jakarta on Sunday in favour of the establishment of the caliphate (khilafah) is proof, if indeed any proof were needed, that the world is in grave danger of being dragged back into a ’New Dark Age’!

People, sceptics, liberals, politicians, and leaders in our establishments can deny what is plain to see; but they would be foolish to do so. Our world is polarizing before our very eyes. To fail to observe what a blind man could see is tantamount to playing fast and loose with the future of our civilization, tantamount to playing fast and loose with liberty, equality, and democracy.

If Islam won the day and a caliphate were indeed established, the world would be become bi-polar. The West would then be faced with an enemy of great dimension. As I stated in my book, The Dawning of a New Dark Age, an iron veil would have to be dropped between our two worlds, and this would have to be so for our own survival and safety. The concept of globalization will be effete: it will be no more; the concept will become exhausted.

Make no mistake about it, a world dominated by Islam will be a world enveloped in darkness. Political thought will come to a grinding halt; so will creative thought, scientific thinking, and much else besides.

Islam is not conducive to scientific thinking because it stifles freedom and creativity in thought. Prophet Muhammad might well have stated, “Go in quest of knowledge even unto China”, but there should have been a cautionary addendum: If the knowledge you come back with contradicts Islam, you will be beheaded!

In Islam, all knowledge must back up Muhammad’s ‘divine revelation’. If it does not, then it is not permitted. It is thrown out, for it is worthless. Nothing must contradict the word of Allah, nothing must contradict the Qur’an, nothing must contradict ah-Hadîth, or the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad, and nothing must contradict as-Sunnah, or the traditions of Muhammad. Woe betide anyone who brings back anything contradictory!

Unfortunately, Islam, in recent decades, has gained in influence because of oil wealth. Oil wealth has brought the Bedouins to Rome! The world is now the Bedouin's oyster! Alas, the Bedouin's thinking hasn’t expanded with his expanding pockets! And nor will it. It cannot do so, because his thinking is stuck in the era of their prophet. And that was more than 1400 years ago.

To the Muslim mind, there is only black and white; there are no shades of grey. To the Muslim mind, there is right or wrong according to the Qur’an and the teachings of the prophet; no-one else’s opinions matter. Islam is a simple religion for the simple mind. The Muslim is not given to abstract thinking. Even the concept of the Trinity is too much for him to grasp. Metaphor is not his strong point. All is taken literally.

That the Angel Gabriel should have appeared unto Muhammad in a cave defies comprehension; but to the Muslim it matters not. Rationality and logic are of no consequence in the Islamic world. And so it will be if Islam wins the day!

We shall be drawn back to a bygone age: An age in which prayer will matter more than progress, and age in which belief will matter more than science, and age in which meting out Allah’s punishments will matter more than human dignity. It will be an age in which the criminal will be beheaded in the public square, the thief's hand will be amputated, the adulteress will be stoned to death, the drinker of alcohol will be whipped, and the homosexual will be thrown from atop the local minaret. They will be dark days indeed!

The fact of the matter is that Islam is gaining in strength. It is like a locomotive steaming ahead at full throttle, without breaks, taking the world back centuries, back to a way of life we all thought the world had long left behind.

Many a Westerner might conclude that secularism is the mother of all enlightenment. If this is so, then by contrast he should conclude that Islam is the mother of all darkness; for indeed it truly is.

Islam: The Theocratization of Politics

Politics in the Western world is broadly characterized by the term liberal democracy. Liberal democracy combines the right to be governed representatively. In a liberal democracy, there is universal adult suffrage, and political equality for all people. Those elected to high office are entrusted with the protection of the individual’s liberties, the individual’s freedom of speech, the individual’s freedom of assembly, the individual’s freedom to choose his religion or indeed his right not to choose one at all, the individual’s right to private property, the individual’s right to privacy, the individual’s right to self-determination, and the individual’s equality before the law, under the rule of law. Increasingly, the West has moved in the direction of giving the individual equality before the law, regardless of sexual orientation.

Politics in the Islamic world, by contrast, is very different. Muslims consider themselves to be superior to non-Muslims, or al-Kuffar, in all respects. Representative government is sadly lacking in just about all countries where Islam is the dominant religion. Turkey is but one example where there is a semblance of representative government. But even in that country, democracy is shaky at best; and often has to be guarded by the military lest the politicians overstep the mark.

Of course, there is no such thing as equality before the law for non-Muslims, and nor is there freedom of speech or freedom of assembly. Indeed, in Islamic countries, there is no freedom to choose one’s religion at all. Even in Turkey we can conclude that Christians are at best tolerated. Sexual orientation, of course, is not even discussed as an issue; in most Islamic countries, gays are often persecuted, and often times even killed.

Western politicians have got themselves into a fix with Islam because they have allowed far too many Muslims into the West for economic reasons, paying scant regard to the long-term consequences of their actions, paying little regard to the propensity of Muslims to integrate into our societies, and paying no regard to the wishes of the electorate.

Western politicians are in denial about Islam. It is my belief that most politicians know exactly how Muslims think, yet they are singularly unwilling to admit fault, admit error, admit they were wrong to allow so many Muslims into the West. They are also unwilling to state, categorically, that Muslims need to abide by our liberal, democratic laws. In brief, they are running scared. The electorate is being sold down the river as a result of the craven actions of our politicians. And who, in recent years, have been more craven than George W Bush and Tony Blair?

The fact of the matter, as I have stated time and time again, is that Islam is not a religion in the Western sense at all. Islam is a total way of life. Islam, if it is anything, is politics. Indeed the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini stated as much when he said: ”Islam is politics or it is nothing.” Who can argue with the Ayatollah on such matters?

Muslims believe that the only constitution worthy of being followed is one based on the Shari’ah. No liberal democracy for them! Who wants to give women equal rights when they can get away with treating them as second-class citizens? In countries such as Saudi Arabia, a woman’s word is worth half that of a man! Translated into everyday life, this means that in a court of law, there must be two female witnesses for every male witness.

Western politics has been through a period of secularization. Whilst the West’s foundations lie in Judeo-Christianity, most Western countries these days pay only lip service to those roots, since religion has become rather marginalized and pushed into the private sphere.

If it is true to say that Western politics have been largely secularized, then it is equally true to say that Islam has been allowed into the West as a theocratizing influence. Indeed, Islam in its entirety may be viewed as the theocratization of politics, for Islam recognizes no separation of the profane from the sacred, no separation of the temporal from the heavenly, no separation of the secular from the theocratic.

Therein lies a huge problem for the West. This is a circle that simply cannot be squared. Not even with the best will in the world, not even with abundant intelligence. A square peg cannot be made to fit into a round hole!

It must then be conceded that the upshot of all this is one of two scenarios: Either the West will have to cave in and accept the theocratization of its politics à l’Islam, or it will have to fight for its right to existence.

A little bit of foresight and intelligence could have avoided all the bloodshed that will surely ensue; but alas the politicians did not possess that intelligence. They took, instead, the line of least resistance; and now, this is the mess we find ourselves in: Western politics, I fear, is about to be theocratized!

Youths quizzed over man's murder

The man approached a gang about criminal damage, said neighbours
Six youths are still being questioned about the death of a man who was attacked by a gang outside his home.
Garry Newlove, 47, was assaulted by teenagers in Station Road North in Warrington, Cheshire, on Friday night. He died in hospital on Sunday.

Neighbours said the father-of-three was attacked after he approached a group of youths causing criminal damage.

The youths being questioned are all male and aged between 15 and 19. Police said inquiries were ongoing.

Three further youths have been released without charge.

Det Ch Insp Martin Cleworth, leading the inquiry, said police were still looking for other people in connection with the attack.

They are animals, they are just scum really

Andrew Brocklehurst

"I've described them aptly as a pack because it's a suitable way that this attack can be described," he said.

"He has come out on his own - confronted by approximately fifteen of them - he's been assaulted, and he's been on the floor, and repeatedly assaulted while he's been on the floor.

"We've said it over and over again - but this was a particularly sickening assault."

A post-mortem examination to establish how Mr Newlove died was being carried out on Monday afternoon, Cheshire Police said.

Extra patrols

Neighbours said the tree-lined street in the Fearnhead area of the town had been plagued by anti-social behaviour for years.

Andrew Brocklehurst, 20, said he heard shouting in the street and when he went outside police and an ambulance were already on the scene.

He said: "I heard reports someone had kicked his car and he had gone out and tried to move them on and as far as I know that's when they attacked him.

"It's a shock, it really is, it's not such a bad area and this is just a guy trying to defend his own property and he's been killed.

"They are animals, they are just scum really, I can't understand how anyone could do anything like that."

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: "Additional patrols are now working in the community and officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident." [Good luck with that idea. Everybody is scared to death of the 15 to 19 year old teenagers of unknown ethnicity or religion. Such is the dhimmi world we live in today.]

Long Live the Caliphate! Oh, and Death to the Dhimmis!

Caliphate supporters are just breaking out all over. 20,000 attend a caliphate pep rally in London, 80,000 attend a caliphate pep rally in Indonesia. But are the dhimmis listening? Are our leaders? Maybe we do deserve to be enslaved or murdered if we are going to be so stupid and remain in denial. It is time to stop all Muslim immigration to the West. Let them have their caliphate in their hellholes. That way we have a defined enemy and can put them out of their misery. After all, for a Muslim, living under the infidels, those pretentious infidels who think they are just as good as the Muslims is truly hell on Earth.

Scheming To Flood America with Iraqi Refugees

Over the years, we have been warning that the Iraq war would result in a massive refugee/asylum program that would flood the US with Muslims. Now the scheme has been hatched in Congress in House Bill HR 2265. Shrouded in legalese, this bill would allow 60,000 Iraqi refugees and their familites into the US with all the resettlement benefits. But it goes much, much further. Within this bill, there are actually sections that change the immigration acts and broadens who qualifies to essentially include anyone who interacts with the US, UN or any NGO as a qualified refugee. Of course, these refugees are in addition to the US 'normal' intake of refugees and asylum seekers. So who is behind this? Senators Kennedy and Smith, House Reps Blumenauer and Shays, and the revert Grover Norquist. Yes, that Grover Norquist, pawn for the Islamists and a confidante of the White HOuse. This bill could end up flooding the US with hundreds of thousands of Iraqis, the overwhelming majority Muslims who may be sympathetic today but get Jihad fever after they get here. How did all those Somali refugees work out? Oh yeah, they are demanding the dhimmis know their place. Just ask airline passengers hailing a taxi in Minneapolis.

This State department and this White House are destroying America with their insane war on an enemy we dare not name.

These bills must die in committee and never see the light of day. It is sad to say that this Congress, this Administration can no longer deliver a fair and logical bill of any kind. They always become poisoned with special interest and obscure clauses that destroy their intent and harm America.

Center for Vigilant Freedom: HR 2265 To provide special immigrant status for certain Iraqis, to assist iraqi refugees and for OTHER purposes.

Muslim convert who wants to renounce Islam to undergo counselling

By K.KASTURI DEWI

PENANG: A Muslim convert who wants to renounce Islam after her Iranian husband left her will be referred to the State Islamic Religious Affairs Department for counselling.

Syariah High Court judge Othman Ibrahim instructed Siti Fatimah Tan Abdullah, 38, to undergo counselling at the Department's Unit Ukhwah (a unit on brotherhood and sisterhood in Islam) before the court decides on her application.

He said the court would therefore postpone the decision to Dec 3 pending the report from the unit.

Othman also instructed the court registrar to write to the unit to assist Siti Fatimah in religious matters.

When approached after the postponement, Siti Fatimah said she did not understand the court's instruction and would seek clarification from her counsel Ahmad Jailani Abdul Ghani.

A Chinese by birth, Siti Fatimah, who is from Nibong Tebal, filed the application in May last year.

In her affidavit to renounce the religion, Siti Fatimah, whose Chinese name is Tan Ean Huang, said she converted to Islam in July 1998 but never practised any of the Islamic teachings.
She claimed that she had converted for the sake of marrying an Iranian named Ferdoun Ashanian in 1999, but he left her a few months later.

She has no knowledge of his current whereabouts.

Siti Fatimah said she wants the Penang Islamic Religious Council to declare that she is no longer a Muslim under Section 61 (3) of the Penang Islamic Administration Enactment. She also wants the court to change the religious status on her identity card from Muslim to Buddhist.

Did you catch our dear leader King Jorge today in his press conference? He described our war on 'terror' as our “work to change the conditions that moved 19 kids to come on airplanes to murder our citizens..." Is that so Jorge? Who is telling Jorge about the poor wayward Muslims, oppressed and wronged by the West and this sap is actually buying the crap. Poor misguided Atta and his wayward little mischief makers. I tell you the day this idiot leaves office will be a great day for America.

If you answered (e), you are correct, since Saudi Arabia’s “Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice” (a.k.a. the Muttawa) believes that your choice will prevent (b), which apparently is the expected behaviour of all males in that country.

Take this case in point:

Nigerian Lands in Jail for Helping 60-Year-Old Woman in Riyadh

A new convert to Islam, fired with zeal to do a righteous act, had no idea that he would pay a heavy price for helping a sick woman, one that has landed him 50 days and counting behind bars.

The Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice found him guilty for committing a crime: Being in the presence of a woman who is not a relative (a so-called “illegal state of seclusion”).

Arab News tried several times to contact Ahmed Al-Jardan, spokesman for the commission, but phone calls were not returned. A written fax sent to the commission’s main center asking for comment was also ignored.

Ibrahim Mohammed Lawal, a Nigerian student of Islamic studies at Badiya Islamic Center in Riyadh, learned that his neighbor, a 63-year-old woman, was indisposed and needed medical attention. So he took her to various hospitals in Riyadh, including the Riyadh Medical Complex at Shumaisy, all of which refused to treat her. It was only after the intervention of Sheikh Fawaz, director of Badiya Islamic Center, that the Badiya Hospital admitted the case. Despite the charitable act Mohammed
ended up in detention, accused of immoral behavior because he was neither married nor related by blood to the elderly woman.

Speaking to Arab News on phone from his cell in the Malaz prison, Mohammed said that after the woman received treatment and after he returned to Riyadh after three days in the Western Region, he was arrested after checking up on the woman’s health. In the woman’s apartment were three other women related to her.

“I was glad to note that the lady was making steady progress,” he said. “While we were chatting, there was a knock on the door. When this lady opened the door, four or five Saudis, whom I had seen outside the building before, barged in. They accused me of being alone with the woman unrelated to me and suspected my intention behind this visit to her apartment.”

Mohammed said the Saudis identified themselves as members of the commission and took him and the three women into custody and later to Malaz prison.

[…]

But before Mohammad can go anywhere, he has to figure out why he is in prison and how to get out. Mohammed, who embraced Islam recently, said he was unable to understand the reason behind his continued detention.“I wanted to do a good thing for a woman who was sick, and this is what I get in return,” he said. “I lost the support of my family in Nigeria, where my wife and children are upset with me — and here I am languishing in prison.”

Clearly, Mr. Lawal has only himself to blame. He should have understood how harmful his behaviour was. Although leaving the old woman to her own devices might have caused her death, this pales in comparison to the moral sinkhole that his lewd and lascivious behaviour would lead us into.

Of course, given that the muttawa would rather see schoolgirls burn to death than be seen without their proper garb, truly devout Muslims should be okay with all this, secure in their ‘virtue’.

Wilders Demands Koran Ban, Dutch Government Denounces Wilder

Sounds like a good idea to me. Apparently the dhimmis disagree and want to have WIlders imprisoned and fined.

Dutch far-right MP calls for Koran ban

THE HAGUE, The Netherlands -- Dutch far right MP Geert Wilders Wednesday called for a ban on the Koran in the Netherlands, describing the Islamic holy book as a "fascist" text that exhorts followers to kill and rape.

The Dutch government swiftly condemned Wilders' remarks as damaging for community relations in the Netherlands and said that the proposal was unworthy of consideration.

"It has to be perfectly clear that banning the Koran in the Netherlands is not up for discussion for this government and will not be up for discussion in future. We have freedom or religion here," integration minister Ella Vogelaar, said in a statement.

Vogelaar described Wilders' call as "an insult to the majority of Muslims in the Netherlands and abroad who reject calls to hate and violence."

Wilders, who heads the far-right Freedom Party, which holds nine of the 150 seats in parliament, argued for the ban in a letter published in the De Volkskrant newspaper.

Wilders compared the Koran to Adolf Hitler's autobiography Mein Kampf and said that it has "no place in our constitutional state."

"I have been saying this for years: there is no such thing as a moderate Islam," he wrote, arguing that several chapters in the Koran called on Muslims "to oppress, persecute, or kill Christians, Jews, dissidents, and non-believers, to beat and rape women, and to establish an Islamic state by force."

Wilders wrote the letter after a weekend attack on young local politician Eshan Jami who founded a group to support people who have renounced Islam.

Jami, who was not visibly injured in the attack, is now under constant police protection like Wilders.

"Ban this wretched book like Mein Kampf is banned! Send a signal to Jami's attackers and other Islamic radicals that the Koran cannot be used in the Netherlands as an inspiration or an excuse for violence," Wilders said.

He acknowledged that his appeal would not get majority support in parliament.

"I am fed up with Islam in the Netherlands: no more Muslim immigrants allowed. I am fed up with the worship of Allah and Mohammed in the Netherlands: no more mosques," he finished his letter.

In a reaction to Wilders, a Dutch lawyer has filed a legal complaint against the MP for "insulting a section of the community."

The offense is punishable with a maximum sentence of two years in prison and a fine of up to €16,750 ($23,065). "I think he has gone too far and it is unseemly that a member of parliament expresses himself like this," lawyer Els Lucas told the ANP news agency.

The Dutch public prosecutor's office will now have to decide whether or not to go ahead with a court case.

Wilders is known for his harsh anti-Islam stance and has been under round-the-clock protection since the November 2004 murder of outspoken Dutch columnist and filmmaker Theo van Gogh by a radical Muslim. He has received a number of death threats.

Jihad the musical!

SEDIA GEMPUR ATAUPUN SUDAH DIGEMPUR?

The following article comes from another "Blogger-In-The-Wild" who seeks to publicize a particular cause and to enlighten the regular Joe Citizen of Malaysia. It concerns the erosion of Malaysia's sovereignity by a foreign power and the lack of backbone by the current Malaysian leadership in not only facing this threat, but also for not properly informing the citizenship as to its implications and to prepare them for the worst. Pedestrian Infidel apologizes to its English-centric readers as the article has been written in the Malay language. However the following links are enclosed for your references regarding the gist of this article.

http://www.mima.gov.my/mima/htmls/papers/pdf/mokhzani/cyber-ambalat.pdf

“The diplomatic tension began to rise on 16 February 2005 when Petronas, Malaysia’s national oil company awarded production sharing contracts to Anglo-Dutch giant Royal Dutch/Shell and Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd - Petronas’ exploration and production arm for the ultra-deepwater blocks off the east coast of Malaysia’s Sabah state. The blocks, which Malaysia has termed Blocks ND6 and ND7, are partially situated in Indonesia’s claimed area which is referred to by Jakarta as Ambalat and East Ambalat.”

“According to the Indonesian Navy, the left side of the Indonesian ship’s hull was damaged while the Malaysian ship’s front was also damaged. The navy claimed its ship was hit by the Malaysians. “The incident occurred when our ship was patrolling off the Karang Unaran coast off East Kalimantan and tried to drive the Malaysian vessel out of our maritime territory,” Slamet said.”

Mengapa pula kita terpaksa meminta maaf kepada Kerajaan Indonesia apabila jelas nyata KRI Tedung Naga memasuki kawasan perairan negara TANPA KEBENARAN. Jadi, persoalan siapakah yang meminta maaf bermain-main dikepala saya. Menteri Pertahanan? Menteri Luar Negeri?

http://portal.antara.co.id/en/arc/2007/3/29/malaysia-admits-mistakes-by-offering-apology-over-ambalat/

“Malaysia`s apology over incursions by its naval boats into Indonesian waters indicates that the neighboring country has admitted it was mistaken in making provocative moves in the Ambalat region, a legislator said. “As a civilized nation, we have to appreciate Malaysia`s willingness to offer an apology,” Andreas H Pareira, a House of Representatives (DPR) member representing the Indonesian Democratic Party-Struggle (PDI-P), said here Wednesday. Indonesian Defense Minister Juwono Sudarsono said here on Wednesday that Malaysia had offered an apology to Indonesia for intrusions committed by its naval boats into Ambalat waters last February 24 and 25.”

“As a civilized nation?” Apa maksud Bapak Andreas apabila menutur kata-kata tersebut? Rakyat Malaysia gasar? Kerajaan Malaysia gasar? Ataupun kedua-duanya sekali?

Nampaknya bukan main bersemangat lagi rakyat Indonesia ingin mempertikaikan hak Malaysia keatas perairan Selat Ambalat.

KOMEN NO 1
“Ambalat Belongs To Indonesia ! Ganyang Malaysia !”

KOMEN NO 2
“Malaysia ngembat Ambalat elo Kualat!!!!

Lagi TKI Indonesia diperkosa dan dianiaya majikan di Malaysia!!!!TKI diperkosa dan dianiaya!!!!

Malaysia manggil bangsa kita INDON!!!!! Liat aja di koran2 Malesy kita dibilang INDON(s). Sampe dibilang presiden INDON… Negara mana tuh INDON???? Ada yang tau gak? Kekekeke…

Kita manggil bangsa mereka aja gak disingkat2Apa mau kita panggil Hei bangsa Malesy…. kau bangsa peMALESY, PENINDAS, LICIK, PENGHISAP DARAH!!!!

Elo kagak mikir kalo keluarga encik2 diperlakuin seperti binatang, diperkosa, dicambuk??? Kenapa tidak orang Melayu saja yang jadi buruh kerja di tempat kotor membangun BUILDING??? MEmang peMALESY”

KOMEN NO 3
“Disini berita Ambalat ditutup-tutupi.

3. Sekiranya berlaku sekali lagi pencabulan keatas perairan Selat Ambalat, adakah Kementerian Pertahanan telah mengambil langkah untuk memastikan bahawa Angkatan Tentera Malaysia mampu menangkis dan memusnahkan sebarang tentangan?

Homophobic Muslim doctor in UK in hot water

When Muslim doctors aren't terrorists, they're gay bashing.

The president of the Islamic Medical Association is to face a disciplinary hearing after making a ferocious attack on gay people in Pulse, the magazine for GPs.

In the letter, Dr Muhammad Siddiq says that gays need "the stick of the law to put them on the right path" and that they deserve neither help nor pity.

"There is punishment and fine if you throw rubbish or filth in the streets. The gays are worse than the ordinary careless citizen,” wrote the GP, who is employed by the Walsall Primary Care Trust in the West Midlands, “They are causing the spread of disease with their irresponsible behaviour. They are the root of many sexually transmitted diseases." The letter went on to say that a depressed transsexual awaiting gender reassignment was "twisted."

Dr Siddiq denies that he authored the letter and claims his son was playing a "cynical spoof" on him by forcing him to sign the letter and sending it to Pulse, a magazine for GPs. When the magazine checked with Dr Siddiq, he made no effort to deny that these were his views. Allegedly, he has privately told his colleagues that he had actually written the letter.

Dr Michael Irwin, co-ordinator of the Secular Medical Forum commented: "If Dr. Muhammad Siddiq holds these views, he should not be allowed to work within the NHS. And, if he has a ‘private practice’, his patients should be made aware of his opinion, so that only those with a similar bigoted outlook would be likely to see him. Looking to the future, I believe the GMC should require him to attend a ‘Fitness-to-Practice’ hearing: then, if it is confirmed that he has been correctly quoted, his medical registration should be suspended."

Dr Siddiq's PCT disciplinary hearing will be held next week.
