A few days ago, I found to my chagrin that my login at Malaysia Today had been blocked (see inset). This caught me by surprise as I, far I knew, had done nothing to violate M-T's TOS (Terms of Service).
Naturally, I contacted M-T admin, whose reply in entirety read as follows: "no.. we have not blocked.. try again and let us know.."
So I kept trying to login, and kept getting the same response as seen here. Further emails to M-T admin about this unsatisfactory state of affairs have gone unanswered.
Never mind what the terse one line email I received says--I am wagering that I have been really banned from M-T, probably for my admittedly strident counterjihad agenda, and perhaps for the additional reason that my comments/articles/etc at M-T just might have had something to do with RPK's current two-year incarceration without trial.
In a nutshell, my defacto banning from Malaysia Today is precisely why Malaysia sucks:
- Customer service that is unresponsive or provides little in the way of actual service
- Or worse, lies to its own 'customers'
- Systems that do not work
- People in charge who don't know their own job duties or the systems they are supposed to run
- Left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing (and vice versa)
So, it looks like M-T has taken a page from the UMNO political playbook and silenced an irritant by banning me.
If I am wrong about any of this, and this situation is somehow (and unexpectedly) resolved, I will be the first to apologize and post a retraction. But I know better.
