Muslims welcome a new year

Our opposition to Zionism does not mean that we support the PLO. Unlike some, we don’t single out Jewish nationalism for special condemnation. We condemn all nationalisms equally. The “Palestinian nation” is just as much a myth as the “Jewish nation”, or any other nation. Nationalism is the ideology which seeks to justify the capitalist division of the world into separate “nation-states”, each competing to gain a place in the sun for its ruling class and each with killing machines at its disposal. We utterly reject this view of the way humanity should organise itself.

As Socialists we re-affirm that all peoples should seek their emancipation, not as members of nations or religions or ethnic groups, but as human beings, as members of the human race. They should unite to abolish the division of the world into so-called nation-states and to establish a World Cooperative Commonwealth of which we will all be free and equal members - citizens of the world, not subjects of nation-states.

Thank you for your feedback EK.

I won't go arguing with you, or trying to change your perception of me, as there is simply no point in doing so.

If anyone had visited that link posted above, they would have known that shortly after that article (from 1993) had been reposted on that Socialist blog, and long before I commented here, I had already posted the comment below in "".

Thanks for putting this up again. Always good to read :)"

Many (enlightened socialists) do not care when we are referred to as living in the past, along with other terms: living way ahead in the future (head in the sky), lost, being impractical, hippies, moonbats, drug addicts, radicals, communists, fascists, etc.

Know as well, that many of we so called "moonbats", support the war on terror.

After all, there is nothing much we average people can say or do now, that can affect what is already going on (fact)... an army vs. the Hamas terrorists cowards & instigators (Hamas) - that uses guerrilla tactics and doesn't care how many citizens die (on both sides). After all, it does bring in additional funding - mainly from Muslims whom (history has proved) do not care or say much when non Muslims are oppressed and/or killed.

Hamas has even fired on the humanitarian aid trucks that are allowed by Israel into Gaza & even rob those trucks as soon as they enter Palestinian cities. Hamas even brainwashes children as young as 2 years old become human shields and even suicide bombers and soldiers.

All this are fact and supported by tons of evidence out there. One only needs to do a Google Search to find most of them.

Those with honour (hardly much left in the world today), should leave the citizens out of it & meet away from where the citizens live... on "the battlefield". Duke it out like real men & the olden days... glory!

Hamas will not come out of course, & risk open war. They are vastly outnumbered & out-gunned. Hamas will want to kill as many Israel (Jew Terrorists in their eyes) Soldiers & Citizens as they can before they can claim their 72 virgins. Hamas will use the Palestinian civilians & children as shields and "things" to slow down and make the Israel ground invasion difficult.

Know dear Muslims (especially those in Malaysia & UMNO), that every single cent contributed towards Hamas, will only support the killing & suffering of more citizens and children in Palestine.

A ceasefire will only be achieved once Hamas is disbanded & has no more funding, rockets and the means to brainwash and oppress their own citizens and to kill and instigate Israel.

Hamas are evil garbage, they must be eliminated. Then, if the rest of the 'Palestinians' really want peace they can give up their dream of destroying Israel, if not, they will never have peace.

Israel must destroy as much of Hamas as possible before the MSM and the idiots and ignorants whine loud enough for them to stop. They must only quit when they are ready.

For EVERY missile shot into Israel at least ONE missile should be returned to the area as close as possible to the shooter. Tit for tat. Every single missile should be returned. Period. Treat them like adults, if they kill, they will be killed. If they send missiles, they will receive them. That is the only way they will learn. Screw public opinion, force them to see the truth, or let them be damned.

About 500 supporters of Israel gathered at State Parliament chanting "no more terror", with banners calling for Gaza to be freed from Hamas' control.

Protesters at the pro-Israel rally were draped in Australian and Israeli flags, and some held banners reading "Free Gaza from Hamas" and "Hamas uses human shields".

Speakers included Federal Labor member for Melbourne Ports Michael Danby and Liberal Senator Mitch Fifield.

Mr Danby asked Melburnians to imagine how they would react if their suburbs were being bombed.

"This is one of the dilemmas that democratic societies like Israel have to face. How do we react when faced by Islamist fanatics who would kill Australians, in Bali, murder our tourists in Mumbai and do what they are doing to the Israelis on the edge of Gaza," he said.

"Clearly the act of aggression was engaged in by Hamas which commenced shelling with rockets and mortars into Israel," she said.

"That is what breached the ceasefire, and Israel responded.

"In terms of any response we would make it clear that all care should be taken to try and avoid injuring civilians, and obviously care needs to be taken by Israel in that regard.

"But for all of us who care about peace around the world, and peace in the Middle East, what we would be urging is for the ceasefire to start again and for all violent action to stop." - Julia Gilard (Australian Acting Prime Minister, Australian Labor Party - Political Ideology: Democratic socialism, Social democracy, Third Way)[Political Position: Centre-Left]

In Paris, several thousand demonstrators waved Israeli flags and sang Hebrew hymns to show support for Israel in its military offensive in Gaza , a day after a huge pro-Palestinian rally. About 12,000 demonstrators gathered on a street not far from the Israeli embassy, according to organisers, the CRIF, an umbrella group of French Jewish organisations. Police put the figure at 4,000.

Australia's major political parties have united in support of Israel's right to self-defence as Israeli ground troops press on into Gaza.

"Any diplomatic solution must find a way in bringing a halt to rocket attacks against Israel by the terrorist organisation Hamas," he said.

"Any diplomatic solution must also bring about a halt to armed shipments into Gaza." - Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd

Opposition foreign affairs spokeswoman Helen Coonan also refused to condemn Israel.

"In accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, Israel has every right to defend herself," she said.

"Militants in Gaza, from either the military wing of Hamas or other terrorist groups, must recognise that attacks on Israel from Gaza cannot continue."

Senator Coonan sympathised with casualties "on both sides of the border" and called on the UN to broker an immediate ceasefire.

Statement by Michael Ignatieff, Leader of the Official Opposition - "Liberal Party of Canada", on the situation in Israel and the Gaza Strip

I am greatly concerned by the deepening violence in Israel and the Gaza Strip and the fear and suffering on all sides that this mounting instability has caused.

The Liberal Party of Canada unequivocally condemns the rocket attacks launched by Hamas against Israeli civilians and calls for an immediate end to these attacks. We affirm Israel's right to defend itself against such attacks, and also its right to exist in peace and security.

We regret the loss of life sustained on all sides of the conflict. We call on all parties to end these hostilities, mindful that a durable ceasefire will be necessary to prevent continued civilian casualties and lasting damage to essential civilian infrastructure.

The international community has a responsibility to ensure that the cost of conflict is not borne by the innocent and Canada must stand ready to assist and ensure that basic humanitarian assistance reaches those who need it.

Our thoughts are with those in Israel and the Gaza Strip whose lives are imperiled by the cycle of violence in the region. In the midst of this crisis, we continue to stand for a peaceful resolution. We firmly believe that the basis of this peace will be the mutual recognition by both Israelis and Palestinians of two states, living side by side in peace and security, with a full resolution of the issue of refugees and settlements, as well as secure and internationally recognized borders and boundaries.

"Canada is deeply concerned by the increase in hostilities between Israel and Hamas," said Foreign Minister Lawrence Cannon in a statement.
"We urge renewed international diplomatic efforts to achieve a sustainable and durable ceasefire, starting with the halting of all rocket attacks on Israel."
Rocket attacks from Hamas militants and other factions into southern Israel were to blame for the crisis, said Cannon, adding that civilian safety has to be taken into account as the conflict intensifies.
"Just as urgent diplomatic efforts are needed to bring about an end to this crisis, it is essential that the international community come together to address the humanitarian situation," he said. "This includes ensuring access to food, medical and fuel supplies."

Where were the Palestinian Muslims who nosily marched down Young Street in Toronto today Sat Jan 03/09 telling us that Israel is so terrible for defending itself against Hamas, , where were all you Palestinians when Hamas was sending Bombs into Israel for the last 6 months? Did you march like this to demand that the Islamic terrorist group "Hamas" stop sending 80 rockets a month into Israel? No you were not that is the sad thing. It would appear that the Palestinian in Canada want us to support a Islamic terrorist group called Hamas. Or is it that you willfully deny it?

I wonder how stupid our Palestinian neighbors think Canadians are? These Gaza residents are mostly on Government assistance. They live in tents I think they must like it because none of them seems to want to get out of poverty by working and building. Now if your Palestinian friends in Gaza are so poor, why do you have so many rockets and guns, would it not be better to start building homes instead?

I wonder as well why is it that you all are so afraid to hear something bad about Islam? If Islam does not worship the same God as Israel why are you so mad, mad enough to send bombs over? We have fights sometimes with other neighbors in Canada but we don´t throw bombs at them when they won´t listen.

I wonder if you really understand the situation clearly?

Could it be that Islam teaches its ok for Non Muslims (Infidels) to be treated like slaves humiliated and brought low into submission? until we pay a protection tax and feel ourselves subdued? What is for certain is that no Christian and Jew can be murdered, as long as we keep paying the Jizya tax.

How does the Quran put it again , oh yes

SURA 009.029 There are three different translations because I know how the Muslims like to say that we misinterpreted the verse. These are Muslim translations done by Muslim Scholars, all three.

YUSUFALI: Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.

PICKTHAL: Fight against such of those who have been given the Scripture as believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, and forbid not that which Allah hath forbidden by His messenger, and follow not the Religion of Truth, until they pay the tribute readily, being brought low.

SHAKIR: Fight those who do not believe in Allah, nor in the latter day, nor do they prohibit what Allah and His Messenger have prohibited, nor follow the religion of truth, out of those who have been given the Book, until they pay the tax in acknowledgment of superiority and they are in a state of subjection.

Ladies and Gentlemen in Canada and around the world, please understand that Palestine wants to eliminate the Jews, just read Hamas charter found on the net.

You see what is going on in the world between Israel and these Islamic terrorist organizations?

These same problems have now filtered throw the cracks of our "peaceful pride" that we think we have living here in Canada. The darkness of war, bombs in the night that take down building´s and terrify all. These are the scenes in Israel. They soon may be the reality here.

If the Palestinian living across Canada would like to help then lets get rid of the well-known terrorist group Hamas. Lets all work together to get rid of this evil group.

I just wonder what the Palestine Muslims are so afraid of?

Mr.Mark Harding.
